From the research I've done it seems to be that the driver gets flagged as malware and deleted, but I need a permanent fix to this since it keeps happening. This started happening 2 days after I gave this user their brand new laptop. HP support has been entirely unhelpful as with the original ticket they closed it before ever contacting me with the driver fix, and then 4 months later sent me a box to send it in for some reason.I told them that would be unnecessary as the audio was working at that point. Restarted the laptop and now the driver isn't being recognized again, and reinstalling the driver manually or running the audio troubleshooter isn't fixing it again. Friday I ran the audio troubleshooter, it finally downloaded the right driver and everything was great.Ĭame in today, driver was still recognized but no sound was coming out of the speakers. Uninstalled and re-installed (both automatically and manually) the Conexant ISST audio driver multiple times both from HP's website and from a link they sent in a support email.
